Visiting our facility: A COVID-19 Update
At Sacramento Midtown Endoscopy Center there is no higher priority than your well-being and the broader health of our communities. We understand the fear and concern surrounding this outbreak, and we are committed to doing all we can to keep you and your family healthy and offer you peace of mind. Although you may have concerns about the coronavirus, we are here to keep you informed. We are closely monitoring the outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and we are taking proactive steps to ensure your safety.
Our top priority, as always, is to deliver safe, high-quality care to you and all patients that we serve. We understand the value our facility provides as an important site of access for patients needing ongoing healthcare diagnostics, procedures, surgeries and pain management in a controlled and safe environment, and we appreciate the trust you have placed in us.
We are working with local and state health departments, and are following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and recommendations. In our operating rooms and across all patient care areas, we provide the highest level of cleaning and disinfecting by following guidelines from the CDC and the Association of Operating Room Nurse (AORN). As we work together to keep patients, visitors and our team’s safe, here’s what you can expect from us:
Prior to surgery
One week prior to the date a member of our team will contact you and discuss the requirements for surgery related to COVID as well as complete a screening questionnaire. They will guide you to obtain a COVID test within 7 days of your surgery date, and self-monitor daily at home by taking your temperature and monitoring for cough, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing (flu-like). Please call the facility if you develop a fever or any flu-like symptoms.
Approximately three days prior to surgery, or as soon as your surgery schedules, we will call you and discuss what to expect on your day of surgery, from arrival time to guidance about what medications to take, and other necessary information regarding your day of surgery. At this time they will confirm you have obtained a COVID test and you will be instructed to continue to monitor yourself at home. You should stay away from anyone who has had recent travel, had flu-like symptoms, or has tested positive for coronavirus. Again, please notify the facility for any changes in your general health. If you do not obtain a COVID test, your surgery may be cancelled.
If at any time within the 7 days prior to your procedure you develop a fever or flu-like symptoms please call the facility at (916) 733-6940 and provide us with notification.
Visiting our Center/Hospital on the day of Surgery
For the safety of our patients and visitors, we ask that you come to the facility wearing a mask. You will be greeted by one of our team members at the front desk; they will ask you screening questions about your general health and take your temperature. If you are determined to have symptoms or be at high risk for symptoms, you may be asked not to exit the building if necessary. This screening process is mandatory for every person entering the facility. Upon completion of the screening process you will complete registration and begin your pre-surgical care. Please note that building access is being limited to specific entryways to help improve social distancing. Your family member or responsible person accompanying you will be able to enter the building but we are asking that they remain in the lobby observing social distancing and masking etiquette for the entire surgical experience; they will be kept informed about the progress of the surgery and recovery during this time and the nurses will come out and give them instructions after your surgery.
